Lilypie Waiting to Adopt tickers

Tuesday, February 26, 2007

Hello Hello!! Well, it seems that everything is at a standstill in the Korean adoption world! We received an update from WACAP's coordinator for the Korea program last Friday. She confirmed my suspicions -there have been no referrals in the last two months. That must mean that the flood gates will open very soon. We hope. Sometimes it is hard to stay positive and that is where retail therapy helps a bit. Yesterday I was at Target and I swear there is a magnetic force that pullllllllsssssss me to the baby section. So I bought a teether and some stacking blocks for the Love Bug. It is probably a really good thing that we don't know our baby's gender, otherwise, I would be doing a lot of damage to the 'ol checking account. Thank goodness for small miracles, right?

Alot of people have been asking what number we are on the list. I guess the good news is that we are at the point where they won't tell us our number. No one family is really #1 on the waiting list. The reason makes sense. The babies are matched with families using a screening process of some sort. I am not really sure what that is but from what I understand, when they have a baby, the committee goes through all of the Home Study reports with a fine tooth comb looking for the "perfect match". It really amazes me but others who have had their kids home for a while all say the same thing: That they could not have hand picked a better child to fit their family. So, we will just have to have faith in the system and patience while we wait. But I've promised myself, no baby purchases for the rest of the month! Luckily, there are only 4 days left of the month - hee hee! Maybe later today I will post some pictures of some cute little items we bought for the wee one!

Well, Happy Tuesday. I must go - I am hosting book club tomorrow and haven't finished the book yet! oops.

xo Erin and Mickey
I'm back and added some pics:
1. a sign to hang over the crib (how cute is that?)
2. a little asian boy doll (if our he is actually a she, we'll get the girl doll too!)
3. cute little ducky chair
4. a little book about Canada - he has to know all about his Canadian roots!
5. this is a bib - can you read it? It says, "Don't tell my parents, but they don't look a thing like me!" Isn't that a hoot? And cute little buggy shoes!
